In The Strength of the Lord

Well the title of this email comes from a BYU speech from David A Bednar, it's a very good talk and I'll put the link at the bottom.

Anyways what a week, honestly our sector or area is going through a little rough patch right now. We have probably invited the most people to be baptized and to church this week that I ever have and no one accepted the invitation to be baptized and no one came to church.

This past week we had a Zone Conference though which  was a good time to kind of spiritually, physically and mentally reset about the week. I didn't really learn anything, but was reminded of a lot of things to apply to the missionary work. It was also cool to see a bunch of my friends on the mission. My trainer, Elder Velasco is going home this transfer and it is weird to see him go. I remember being with him and realizing that he was a very young trainer but was probably one of the funnest 3 weeks of my mission I had.

This week we also had a Stake Conference and President Taylor came up to me and told me to translate Hermana Taylor's talk which just ended up being a very brief testimony which was very nice considering it was a very big stake conference.

I honestly don't have much more to write, I am a little lost or confused as to why the sector is going good right now since we are working the hardest we ever have and also trying to be the most obedient that we can. I understand that the Lord has miracles prepared for us and people ready, we just gotta keep on inviting and finding. A quote that has helped me a ton is "shooters gonna shoot".

Love you guys, I hit 20 months today in the mission which is pretty crazy. It's going pretty quick

Nos acompañará?

Well, this week was transfers and I stayed in the same area and received Elder Loomis! He's from Arizona and has about a year in the mission! So that makes it my second time training a new ZL and my 8TH transfer as a ZL, we will see if they let me have a 9th transfer and a year as a ZL.

This week was the week of transfers so it was kind of a weird week, but still a week full of miracles. A couple of weeks ago we got this reference from an online reference. The person saw an announcement on Facebook and wanted to learn more about the church. That person got referred to the wrong ward, but then the Elders passed it over to us and we lost contact with her. Anyways about a week or two ago we had dropped her, and then this Wednesday that reference had popped in my mind and we went to go teach the mom and then the whole family came in to listen to the lesson. We had figured out that they were married and wanted to learn more and receive more peace in their lives. We taught them baptism and asked if they wanted to prepare for baptism and they all said Yes!

Hopefully, they can come to church these weeks and keep on preparing for baptism. They receive us gladly every time and are very cool. They weren't able to get to church this week, but hopefully next week they can come.

That seems to be the thing going on in our area right now, we can invite people to be baptized and they say yes and then yes to church. Then Sunday rolls around and they are just busy. I know there are some people out there that want to go to church and we just have to go find them as a companionship.

We have a trip to the temple as a mission this week and then we have a special consejo de lideres with the president of the Area so I'm pretty hyped about that!
