Posi (10 Months)

Welp I hit 10 months this past week. Time is flying. I have 14 months left and soon I'll have 14 months with only 10 months left...

This week was another tiring one but pretty solid one. This week we did consejo de lideres or leadership council. It was kind of weird since it was just all the ZLs and Hermana leaders trying to help the mission and think of ideas to help the mission out. So there's obviously really good ideas that we try and think of and not everyone agrees. I left with a headache and didn't really know what to think of it after. Something that was cool is that I was able to see a bunch of my buddies on the mission. Elder Velasco - my trainer for my first 3 weeks in the mission, Elder Bundy - my companion out of training and with a bunch of my past zone leaders, so it's pretty cool and good to see them and see how they are doing.

This week we also had an exchange with Elder Encarnacion from the Dominican Republic. He finishes this transfer but doesn't like people knowing how much time he has in the mission. It's quite interesting but we found 2 people that were pretty cool and open to listen to us and read the folletos. This week they ended up coming to church and liking it. Saturday night we were trying to convince them or help them to come to church and it was maybe that they were coming to church, but hey they came.

This week there have been quite a few funny moments just in the street and hills of 12 de Octubre and just kind of random. Everyone at the consejo de lideres was telling me how hard the sector is and how it's going so I feel pretty good that the Lord guided us to find those people and help them to church. Hopefully we can extend a baptismal date because it's been a fat minute since I have had a baptismal date.

Man the Utes are going through it right now but hey sigamos adelante. Time is flying, soon enough it'll be Thanksgiving, then Christmas ( a year in the mish)

Miss all you guys

Pan De Guineo (I'm Tired)

Another week down on 12 de Octubre, Elder Tzul and I have been working pretty hard to find some new people since all of the old people that they were teaching have kind of fallen off the face of the earth so we're putting our hombro a la lid.

This week not a whole lot is going on. Almost no one came to church since the leaders didn't really know when to start the sacrament meeting because of the light cuts but it was still a good week. This past week we had an exchange with the APs and I stayed in the sector with Elder Quishpe. He had already been there for 7 months since he was in the office before. It honestly just felt like a normal exchange since both of the APs are pretty chill right now. It was a pretty good day thankfully.

Then after the exchanges, Sunday morning the ward had an activity called Pan de Guineo or Banana bread where we went knocking doors before church giving put banana bread and also sharing the Jesus Christ is the bread of life. It was kind of funny to see some of the members who haven't served missions, see how hard the work is sometimes since people don't want much. We found some pretty cool people and well see how or if they progress.

Then Wednesday night we got absolutely lost in Guayaquil. We were heading to a baptismal interview and said the wrong address to the taxi and didn't quite get to the house where the interview was. After taking another taxi and another moto trici we got to the house of the family and just for an Uber back since we didn't really know what to do. Gratefully we were able to get back home on time and safely.

We did find this one cool family, we are just visiting families in the night since it's pitch black and no one wants to open their door so we decided to visit this family that was on our Map and found that they have been inactive for some time and want to come back. They also have a person that isn't a member so we'll see if we can get them to church!

Not much going on this next week. We have our consejo de lideres so we'll see what that's all about.
Go Dodgers beat the Yankees and seriously what's going on with my Utes

Miss all you guys

Up and Down (12 de Octubre LZ)

Welp got transferred again...

So I got transferred to a different zone, zona Prosperina! I'm in a sector called 12 de Octubre! My new comp is Elder Tzul y el es de Guatemala. Kind of funny that there are 2 companions back to back from Guatemala.  He is a very humble and very hardworking guy. He has the reason why he came out in his mind and it shows in his work, teaching, and himself. He is 27 years old too which is kind of funny because bro is older than Hayden. He has a lot of things that I can learn from things and I'm ready to learn! Also by the title of the email I got put with the assignment to be zone leader with Elder Tzul. I don't really know what to think about it since this is the biggest zone with 12 companionships but I'm ready to see what this transfer of 7 weeks brings.

This week we saw 2 miracles, I'll start with the first one since it is a little bit longer of a story. Saturday night we got a reference and right as we received the reference we called him and invited him to church to see if he would come. We get up Sunday morning and call him again ( his name is Winner) and he said he was gonna come! We didn't really believe it, but he ended up calling us to ask where the church is and went to a different church and figured out he was in the wrong one and ended up finding his way to the church! Pretty funny because we were out in the street trying to see him waving our arms to see if he would recognize us but he ended up seeing us and getting there right before sacrament started!

Another one that we saw is that another one of our investigators came to church! I don't really know the story, but he was a reference from a member and hasn't been able to come to church for some time but ended up coming. Elder Tzul told me that they still haven't been able to teach him but we were able to see him at church and he looked like he liked coming and seeing what the church was all about.

That's pretty much it for this week! Not much going on, just being a new sector and trying to figure out what's going on in the sector and how we can help the members and investigators come to church.

Miss all you guys and Go Utes!( What's going on with my Utes man) ðŸ¥²ðŸ¥²
