Hey guys, this week was a pretty solid week in La Toma! And to top it all off President Suarez texted us this morning and asked if we wanted to go golfing so we are going to the course now. He sent us the text this morning and we thought something bad like emergency transfers or an interview was gonna happen but he was just inviting us to go golfing.
This week was a pretty eventful and funny week. I think Thursday morning we got a random message saying that the battle against red and blue was happening and we were super confused who the number was. Then after a couple of hours in english he asked if he could give us money for luggages in our house. We still haven't responded and gratefully he hasn't sent anymore messages.
I guess I should talk more about the sector . . . a couple of weeks ago we went looking for some inactive members in our carpeta since we have quite a bit. And we found Hermana Yolanda who's been a member for about 30 years and has been inactive for 25 years or so. We visited her this week and invited her to church and she came in the last 30 minutes of church! When we contacted her house she knew exactly that we were Elders and said after all this time that someone had found her again! Then Hermana Andrea who has a baptismal date also came to church which was awesome.
Then earlier on the week we contacted an hermana Jennifer and gave her the usual folleto and said we're gonna be passing by the area in a couple of days and asked if we could visit her. We passed by the second time and she read the whole folleto and marked things she liked. She then asked what the book of mormon was and when we gave her a book of mormon she said that it's nice to have a physical copy and not one on the phone so we think she downloaded the book of mormon app too!
To finish off Friday night we had a noche de hogar with a member and that is probably one of the best burgers I have ever had. The burgers here are usually just covered in sauce and you feel awful eating them but this burger just had really good caramelized onions and like a chicken salad on it and it was awesome.
This past week we also did some more service helping a ward with a car wash but we didn't really do much. I think we only washed 2 or 3 cars or so.
But that's it for this week. It was a pretty eventful week with a lot going on but hopefully all is well in the USA and hope everyone has a very good 4th of July!
